Moki Cakes was born from the bittersweet ache of moving across the world, and the realisation that nothing bridges the distance quite like the flavours of home.

In the Philippines, food is not just sustenance. It is our love language, our culture, and the beating heart of every gathering. No milestone is complete without a simple, elegant chiffon cake with its distinct flavours sitting at the centre of the table. Growing up in a Filipino household, our fondest memories are anchored by those tastes, including kitchen tables draped in colourful crepe paper, relatives packed into warm rooms, and the unmistakable, comforting aroma of a freshly baked cake wafting through the house.

When we made the journey to Canada, we brought our dreams, but we deeply missed the flavours that defined our childhoods. We quickly realised that the ultra-fluffy, delicate chiffon cakes central to every Filipino birthday, baptism, and Sunday reunion were incredibly difficult to find.

Moki Cakes is our love letter to everyone who has ever looked for home in a new country.
